Lizzy May  -  Meditation Teacher

I am a certified Meditation Teacher (DipBSoM), trained with Distinction at

The British School of Meditation. I am dedicated to helping people find small pockets of calm within a fast-moving, often stressful environment.

In a world that rarely pauses, I believe peace should feel accessible — not distant or complicated, but something you can return to again and again, even in the middle of a busy life. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or simply longing for more calm, I offer supportive guidance and easy-to-learn techniques that help regulate the nervous system and bring a sense of steadiness back into your day.

Meditation didn’t just become a profession for me — it became a lifeline...

Alongside my work as a meditation teacher, I am also an award-winning professional cellist. I have performed all over the world at the highest level of the music industry — from performing for the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace to playing alongside major artists including Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Take That, playing to audiences of over 50,000 people in stadiums. My career has also taken me onto national TV, appearing on shows such as

This Morning, The X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, Live at Abbey Road, and The Graham Norton Show. One of my most memorable moments was giving a solo performance for Andy Murray at the Wimbledon Champions’ Dinner.

While these experiences were extraordinary, they also came with intense pressure, stress, and performance anxiety. Living and working in high-performance environments taught me firsthand how deeply the nervous system is affected by expectation, adrenaline, and constant performance. Like many people, I learned how to appear calm on the outside while feeling overwhelmed internally.

Discovering meditation and nervous system regulation practices changed everything.

Through simple, practical techniques, I learned how to calm my body quickly, quiet anxious thoughts, and feel more centred and grounded — both on stage and in everyday life. These tools not only transformed my relationship with performance but also greatly reduced performance anxiety and improved my overall wellbeing, resilience, and sense of balance.

Today, I bring together my two worlds — meditation and music — by creating my own original meditation music using my cello. The sound of the cello, with its rich, grounding tones, forms the heart of many of my guided meditations, helping to soothe the nervous system and create a deeply immersive and calming experience.

My approach to meditation is gentle, realistic, and designed for modern life. You don’t need hours of silence or perfect conditions — just a willingness to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

Because true calm isn’t about escaping life — it’s about learning how to meet it with greater ease, presence, and inner stability.
